Raipur, 02 May 2025: Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai today inaugurated a workshop on the subject of enhancing skill development, employment and livelihood opportunities for youth, women and tribal communities in Chhattisgarh under the State Support Mission of Niti-State Workshop Series in the capital Raipur. Chief Minister Sai said that this workshop is very relevant in accordance with the needs of the changing times. India is a young country and if the youth get skill training according to their interest and ability, then we can achieve the goal of ‘Developed India’ rapidly. On this occasion, four important Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were signed today by the Skill Development, Technical Education and Higher Education Department of the state.
Chief Minister Sai further said that to make Chhattisgarh a developed state by 2047, schemes are being made keeping the youth, women and tribal class at the center. Appreciating the initiative of Aspirational Districts of NITI Aayog, he said that this has brought about a change in the tribal areas. He said that with the better implementation of the State Support Mission, new employment opportunities will be available through training for livelihood of the youth, women and tribal community of the state. He said that by connecting the youth with skills, they can be made employable. The Chief Minister said that the government has been rapidly advancing skill development since the year 2013. He said that the state government is working on empowering livelihood colleges, ITI and women self-help groups. Giving information about the agreement with Mahindra & Mahindra Company, he said that under this, the youth of the state will be taught modern technology of tractor manufacturing. He said that this initiative will bring positive change in the lives of rural youth and their families of Bastar and Surguja region. The Chief Minister said that there is a huge demand for skills like electrician, plumber, mechanic in rural areas, but the availability of skilled workers is low. The government is preparing a comprehensive plan to provide training in these areas. He also emphasized on promoting the livelihood of local people by adding value to forest products like Mahua, Tamarind, Sal.
Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma said that in the upcoming schemes, special courses and training programs will be made available to the tribal youth of Bastar and Surguja region. Along with this, there is also a preparation to open self-employment and entrepreneurship training centers for women. He said that work is being done towards bringing investment and employment opportunities by signing MoUs with various big companies. He said that it is important to connect skill and industry. When both are together, the possibility of employment will be more. He said that emphasis is being laid on creating new employment by training the youth in industries based on local resources (such as agriculture, fruits and beans, handicrafts). Deputy Chief Minister Sharma said that now the influence of Maoism is decreasing in Bastar and we are creating new employment opportunities for the youth. He informed that the state government will soon launch an e-hub where innovating youth will get the facility of prototyping, funding and marketing. Addressing the workshop, Skill Development, Technical Education Secretary S. Bharati Dasan said that under the Chief Minister Skill Development Scheme for youth in Chhattisgarh, about 4.83 lakh youth have been trained so far, out of which more than 2.66 lakh youth have also got employment.
NITI Aayog’s Program Director Dr. Sonia Pant said that NITI Aayog’s ‘State Support Mission’ has been prepared with the objective of providing technical support to the states in the implementation of their economic and social development plans. She emphasized on strengthening forest-based livelihood programs in tribal areas and said that this will increase the income of the tribal community. Dr. Pant said that NITI Aayog will provide all possible help in increasing the participation of tribal youth in state-level schemes and connecting them with new technology and skills. On this occasion, Chief Minister’s Secretary Rahul Bhagat, CEO of Skill Development Technical Education and Employment Vijay Dayaram K., departmental officials and a large number of youth, women and tribal community representatives were present. 4 important MoUs for skill development
Four important MoUs were signed today by the state’s Skill Development, Technical Education and Higher Education Department. The main objective of these agreements is to make the youth of the state self-reliant by providing them employment-oriented skills.
The first MoU was signed between Technical Education Chhattisgarh State Skill Development Authority and Nandi Foundation. This MoU. The main objective of the programme is to enhance the employability of socially and economically deprived youth. This programme attempts to improve their means of livelihood and economic security by providing them with the necessary skills. Similarly, the second MoU was signed between Skill Development Authority and Mahindra & Mahindra. Under this MoU, short-term training in tractor mechanic course will be provided in livelihood colleges located in Dantewada, Balrampur and Kondagaon districts. The training will be conducted by Raipur-based State Project Livelihood College Society. The third MoU was signed between Higher Education Department and NASSCOM. The objective of this MoU is to develop students studying in colleges from job seekers to job providers by giving them information about modern technologies. This programme is considered a big step towards making the youth industry ready. Similarly, the fourth MoU was signed between Higher Education Department and Nandi Foundation Hyderabad. Under this MoU, the college students will be provided employment-oriented training and prepared as skilled and self-reliant youth.
