25.95 lakh farmers of Chhattisgarh received PM Kisan Samman Nidhi amount
Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the 19th installment of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi
Raipur, 24 February 2025: Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today released the 19th installment of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana from Bhagalpur, Bihar. Under this, Rs 22,000 crore was transferred to the bank accounts of 9.8 crore farmers across the country. These include 25 lakh 95 thousand 832 farmers of Chhattisgarh. Samman Nidhi of Rs 599 crore 38 lakh has been sent to these farmers’ accounts. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai also joined the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi program. He congratulated and honored the farmers who received Kisan Samman Nidhi in a program organized at the Indira Gandhi Agricultural University campus in the capital Raipur.
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai said that honoring the food providers is like honoring Mother Annapurna. In a span of fourteen months, we have sent about one lakh crore rupees to the accounts of farmer brothers. Getting good prices for the food producers has brought prosperity to their lives. Farmers are moving towards modern farming. The prosperity of farmers has laid the foundation for strong rural development and the urban economy has also improved due to this. We are improving Chhattisgarh with the strength and enthusiasm gained from the labor of the food producers. The participation of farmers is most important in making developed Chhattisgarh-developed India.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that so far, Samman Nidhi of Rs 9712 crore 58 lakh has been given to the farmers of the state under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi. As compared to the year 2023-24, more than 2 lakh 75 thousand farmer brothers have got the benefit of this scheme. Our 2 lakh 34 thousand forest patta holder farmers and 32 thousand 500 farmers of special backward tribes are also getting the benefit of this scheme. The requirement of agricultural land was relaxed so that the farmer brothers of special backward tribes can get the benefit of the scheme. Chief Minister Shri Sai said that Modi Ji had given a guarantee of Rs 3100 per quintal and 21 quintals per acre paddy purchase to the farmers. Our government has fulfilled this promise. Along with this, farmers were also given a guarantee of two years’ pending bonus. Within a fortnight of taking oath, we had released a bonus amount of Rs 3716 crore in the accounts of 13 lakh farmers. Last time we purchased 145 lakh metric tonnes of paddy. If we include the bonus amount along with the price of paddy given to the farmers, then Rs 49 thousand crore was sent to the accounts of farmer brothers in the last Kharif season. In this Kharif season, we have made a record purchase of more than 149 lakh metric tonnes of paddy. If we include the amount received from various schemes in this season, then we have sent an amount of about Rs 52 thousand crore to the accounts of farmers.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that Prime Minister Modi is continuously working towards doubling the income of farmers. For this, he is also emphasizing on horticultural crops, crop diversification and animal husbandry. We are doing special work to promote horticulture and crop diversification. Along with this, we have also signed an MoU with NDDB to promote milk production by encouraging animal husbandry. With this, the state has moved forward in the direction of milk revolution. Our government is constantly fulfilling the aspirations of farmers. Under Deendayal Upadhyay Bhumihin Krishi Mazdoor Kalyan Yojana, we have also given an amount of ten thousand rupees each in the accounts of 5 lakh 62 thousand landless farmers of the state. Agriculture Minister Shri Ramvichar Netam also addressed the program organized at Indira Gandhi Agricultural University campus. On this occasion, former Chairman of Chhattisgarh State Forest Medicine Board Shri Rampratap Singh, Indira Gandhi University Vice Chancellor Shri Girish Chandel, Agriculture Production Commissioner Ms. Shehla Nigar, Director of Agriculture Department Dr. Saransh Mittal and a large number of farmers were present.
