Chief Minister addressed the Waqf Reform Janjagran Program: Said – All should make a joint effort to remove the misconceptions of the Waqf Amendment Act
Raipur, 07 May 2025: The Waqf Amendment Act is not against the Muslim community, but in their interest. The joint effort and objective of all of us should be that no kind of confusion spreads in the society regarding the Waqf Act. Everyone should understand the reality and inform others about it. A public awareness campaign is being run across the country regarding the Waqf Amendment Act, and in this episode, today Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai said this in the Waqf Reform Janjagran program organized at his residential office. Chief Minister Sai said that the Waqf Board Amendment Act is an important step to protect the interests of the Muslim community. He said that the Waqf Board was formed with a very noble purpose, so that the Muslim society, especially the poor class and Pasmanda Muslims can get benefits. But in the past years, some influential people took advantage of this law to fulfill their selfish interests, due to which poor Muslims were deprived of their rights.
Say said that the role of all countrymen is necessary to achieve the goal of ‘Developed India’ set by our Prime Minister Narendra Modi. If any class is left behind, we will not be able to fulfill our resolve. Tribal and Scheduled Caste Development Minister Ramvichar Netam said that our government cares about the interests of all. The amendments in the Waqf laws are aimed at empowering the Muslim society. Now every penny of the income of Waqf properties will be accounted for and this amount will be used for the welfare of the people of the society, their education and raising the standard of living. On this occasion, MLA Kiran Dev, Chairman of Waqf Board Dr. Salim Raj, Principal Secretary of Tribal and Scheduled Caste Development Department Sonamni Bora, CEO of Waqf Board Dr. S.F. Farooqui and many intellectuals of the Muslim society were present.
