A vehicle carrying 60 tons of gas exploded in the Mongolian capital of Ulaanbaatar early Wednesday, authorities said.

Emergency services received a call just after 1 am local time (1700 GMT Tuesday) that the vehicle carrying the flammable fuel had exploded because of a traffic accident, the Mongolian National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) said in a post on Facebook.
Rescue teams were dispatched to the scene, it added.
