Union Home Minister Amit Shah Performed Bhoomi Pujan Of NFSU And NFSL

A fully equipped modern building of both the institutes will be built on 40 acres in Banjari of Nava Raipur

Along with scientific investigation, education and training will be available in forensic science, criminology, investigative research and forensic psychology

Raipur. 22 June 2025: Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah today performed Bhoomi Pujan for the construction of buildings of National Forensic Science University (NFSU) and National Forensic Science Laboratory (NFSL) in village Banjari of Nava Raipur. Fully equipped modern buildings of both the national institutes will be built on 40 acres in Banjari of Nava Raipur. An initial amount of Rs 130-130 crore has been sanctioned for the construction of buildings of both the institutes in the campus. Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, Deputy Chief Ministers Arun Saw and Vijay Sharma, Speaker of Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly Dr. Raman Singh, Agriculture Minister Ramvichar Netam and Forest and Environment Minister Kedar Kashyap also attended the Bhoomi Pujan program. NFSL is the most hi-tech forensic lab in the country. With its establishment, Chhattisgarh is going to get a big facility in the field of scientific investigation. At the same time, NFSU is the country’s top institute for the study of forensic science. It conducts courses of specialization in forensic science, investigative science and criminology. In the year 2020, it has been given the status of an institute of national importance. Its establishment in the state will make education and training accessible in specialized areas like forensic science, criminology, investigative research and forensic psychology. On this occasion, MP Brijmohan Agarwal, former Governor of Maharashtra Ramesh Bais, MLAs Kiran Dev, Indra Kumar Sahu, Anuj Sharma and Guru Khuswant Saheb, Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain and Director General of Police Arun Dev Gautam along with senior officials of the Home Department and local public representatives were present.
