Raipur 5 April 2025: Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah today chaired a departmental review meeting on the situation of Left Wing Extremism in Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh. Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma, Director of Intelligence Bureau (IB), Special Secretary (Internal Security) in Union Home Ministry, Directors General of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), National Investigation Agency (NIA), Border Security Force (BSF) and Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force (ITBP), Chief Secretary and Director General of Police of Chhattisgarh and many senior officials participated in the meeting. Addressing the meeting, the Union Home Minister said that the double engine government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is leaving no stone unturned to eradicate Naxalism completely. He said that before March 31, Naxalism will become history in the entire country including Chhattisgarh.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that many generations have been ruined due to Naxalism. He said that Naxalism’s complete destruction is necessary so that it does not take root again. The Home Minister also said that the ongoing fight against Naxalites should not be allowed to scatter. He said that there should be better coordination between the state police and central security agencies to catch the Naxalites fleeing from one state to another. Amit Shah said that progress has been satisfactory on both development and security fronts in Chhattisgarh. He asked the Chhattisgarh administration to increase the radius of ‘Niyad Nellnar’, created to reach the government schemes to the people in Naxal-affected areas, from 5 kilometers of the security forces’ camps to 10 kilometers. Shah also asked to ensure that the people of Naxal-affected areas get equal opportunities for development. The Union Home Minister said that the momentum of the anti-Naxal campaign should not decrease under any circumstances.
