Under the joint aegis of SECL and Xavier Labor Relations Institute (XLRI), Jamshedpur, a training program on labor law was conducted at the Management Development Institute (MDI) of SECL, Indira Vihar on 25 May 2024. In this 6-day training program, Dr. Pramod Kumar Padhi, a renowned professor and labor law expert from Xavier Labor Relations Institute (XLRI), Jamshedpur, imparted training on labor law, especially the upcoming labor code and human resource management related topics.
In his address at the conclusion of the programme, Director (Personnel) Shri Biranchi Das said that this 6-day training program has strengthened the knowledge of labor laws of personnel cadre officers in SECL and will definitely enhance their knowledge. SECL will be successful in creating an efficient HR team. Emphasizing on knowledge updation and upskilling, he said that in today’s changing corporate environment, a skilled HR manager will have to develop the habit of updating his knowledge all the time and will have to make efforts to continuously upskill himself. Only then will we be able to transform our workplace into a better workplace.
In this first of its kind training program at SECL, the participants were taught labor law and management skills by Dr. Pramod Kumar Padhi, renowned professor and labor law expert from Xavier Labor Relations Institute (XLRI), Jamshedpur, and his team. Through various case studies and examples, he informed the participants about proper implementation of labor laws and provisions.
The participants said in their remarks that it has helped a lot in learning the nuances of labor law through the training program and in the coming time, they will be able to contribute in the field of labor and industrial relations with more confidence at the workplace.
Dr. Padhi has more than 22 years of experience in teaching the subject of Human Resources and Labor Law and is counted among the well-known experts on the subject of Human Resources. Dr. Padhi has written 8 books on this subject and more than 25 of his articles have been published in various national and international research journals.
About 30 officers of personnel cadre from SECL Headquarters and various operational areas participated in this workshop and after successful training, certificates were given to all the participants.
