Bhumi Pujan and inauguration of works worth more than Rs 50 crore related to renewable energy
Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai today inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of works worth more than Rs 50 crore related to renewable energy in the capital Raipur. The works inaugurated include solar energy operated battery swapping station in Raipur at a cost of Rs 29 lakh, conversion of normal e-rickshaws into solar e-rickshaws and installation of 54 solar high masts, 152 solar dual pumps and two solar power plant installation works under Niyad Nellnar Yojana. Similarly, the works for which Bhoomi Pujan was done include installation of solar energy operated battery swapping stations in Energy Education Parks of Bilaspur, Rajnandgaon and Jagdalpur, making all the Energy Education Parks of the state net zero, renovation of Energy Education Park Rajnandgaon. Also, in Balod district, as per the Chief Minister’s announcement, the installation of two solar high masts and one community biogas plant, in Baloda Bazar district, as per the Chief Minister’s announcement, the installation of 50 solar high mast plants in the tourist places of 23 villages, solar energization of sub-health centers in Korba district, installation of 500 kilowatt capacity on-grid solar power plant in Hirri dolomite mine in Bilaspur district, solar energization of ashrams/hostels in Korba district, the foundation stone was laid for the installation of 280 kilowatt capacity on-grid and 2.4 kilowatt capacity off-grid solar power plant in village Kunjara in Jashpur district. The income of battery-operated e-rickshaw drivers will increase due to CREDA’s innovative initiative. Work is being done to increase basic facilities through solar energy. CREDA CEO Rajesh Singh Rana said that the solar-powered battery swapping station has been developed by CREDA as a pilot project for battery-operated electric rickshaws. With the help of battery swapping, e-rickshaw drivers can replace discharged batteries with charged batteries in less time at a cheaper rate. This will enable e-rickshaw drivers to cover more distance daily and will also increase their income. Similarly, solar panel based e-rickshaw has been developed by CREDA as an energy efficient e-rickshaw as compared to ordinary e-rickshaws. This gives relief to the rickshaw driver from the problem of frequent battery charging. Generally, rickshaw drivers are not able to cover more distance daily due to battery charging problem. This problem has been overcome to a great extent by CREDA by installing solar panels in e-rickshaws. Rana said that CREDA is making many efforts to provide basic facilities from solar energy in rural and urban areas, which includes works like installation of solar plants in ashram-hostels, health centers, energy education gardens, operation of community street lights from solar plants for street lighting, installation of solar high mast lights and installation of community biogas plants. On this occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma, Forest Minister Kedar Kashyap, Agriculture Minister Ramvichar Netam, MLA Motilal Sahu, MLA Anuj Sharma, MLA Sampat Agarwal, MLA Sunil Soni, newly appointed Chairman of CREDA Bhupendra Savnani, newly appointed Chairmen of Corporation Boards, Energy Department Secretary Dr. Rohit Yadav and a large number of common people were present.
