Appreciated the work of Jal Sanchay Vahini to save water
Balodabazar, 9 May 2025: Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai reached Baldakchar, a village dominated by Kamar tribe of Kasdol, a special backward tribe, under the state-wide Sushasan Tihar today. He observed the soak pit being constructed by Jal Sanchay Vahini for water conservation under the More Village, More Water Campaign. He himself took a pickaxe and laid bricks in the soak pit under construction. Appreciating the work of Jal Sanchay Vahini to save water, the Chief Minister said that such efforts are necessary to avoid water crisis. Lalita Dhruv, a member of Jal Sanchay Vahini, said that under the More Village, More Water Campaign, soak pits have been constructed near 10 tube wells in Baldakchar so far. Under this campaign, people are being made aware about cleaning of ponds, awareness rally, wall writing, water harvesting system.
It is noteworthy that Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai has started the More Village More Water Campaign on 24 April 2025 on the occasion of Panchayat Raj Day. Under this campaign, construction of 2500 soak pits near tube wells has been completed in all the 519 gram panchayats of Balodabazar-Bhatapara district so far. Along with this, about 1291 ponds have been cleaned. For water conservation, a meeting of the Village Water and Sanitation Committee is being organized at the village level, in which the proposal for necessary construction for rainwater harvesting and the physical verification of the structures built for water conservation is being done by the villagers. 2 water conservation vahini have been formed in each panchayat which are encouraging the villagers for water conservation.
