Mungeli: The accused who recorded a girl’s obscene video on Snapchat and made it viral has been arrested by Mungeli police and sent to jail after being produced in court. The accused, Adarsh Singh, was threatening the victim that if she did not obey him, he would send her Snapchat chats to her family. The victim’s family had complained to the police on March 15 that an objectionable Snapchat video of a girl had come on her sister-in-law’s WhatsApp number. When the sister-in-law saw the video, she told that someone had recorded the girl’s Snapchat video and made it viral. After this, when the victim was asked, she told everything. The victim told that since March 8, 2023, she was talking to Adarsh Singh, a resident of Baiharsari, on the phone and Snapchat. One day Adarsh asked her to take off her clothes and make a video call, and when the victim refused, he threatened that if she did not do so, he would send the chats of both of them to the family and make it viral. Made video call under pressure In April and May, the victim, out of fear, joined Adarsh on a video call and showed him objectionable videos. Adarsh recorded the screen of this video and saved it on his phone and then started pressuring the victim to have physical relations. When she refused, Adarsh abused her.
Due to fear, the victim did not tell this to anyone at home. About two years ago, the conversation between the two had stopped, but now Adarsh started harassing the victim again using the old video. He was making the video viral by sending it to her relatives and friends. The accused’s mobile was seized After the complaint, the police registered a case against Adarsh Singh on April 7. A case was registered against him under the POCSO Act and the IT Act. Based on the statements of the victim, her family and witnesses, the police started searching for the accused. With the help of the cyber cell, the police took Adarsh into custody. During interrogation, Adarsh confessed his crime. The police have also seized his mobile. After this, the police arrested 23-year-old Adarsh Singh, son of Rana Pratap Singh, resident of Baiharsari, Police Station Dadri, District Bemetara, on April 8, presented him in the court and sent him to jail in judicial custody.
