Farmers were told about the beneficial use of Nano DAP: Scientific use of Nano DAP was taught to farmers by giving demo in the fields
Raipur, 23 July 2025: To meet the possible shortage of solid DAP fertilizer for farming in the current Kharif season, adequate arrangements of alternative fertilizers have been made by the state government. In this episode, liquid Nano DAP has emerged as an effective alternative. With its use, farmers are getting a direct benefit of about Rs 75 per acre in paddy crop. As per the instructions of the state government, storage of more than 3 lakh 5 thousand bottles of Nano DAP has been ensured by IFFCO company in the state so far. Out of these, 82 thousand 470 bottles are stored in double lock centers, 1 lakh 41 thousand 389 bottles in primary cooperative agricultural credit societies and 48 thousand bottles in the private sector. Currently, IFFCO company has more than 33 thousand nano DAP bottles left. A half-litre bottle of Nano DAP is being made available to farmers at cooperative societies at the rate of Rs 600.
According to agricultural experts, instead of 50 kg of solid DAP fertilizer required for one acre of paddy crop, only 25 kg of solid DAP and a half-litre bottle of Nano DAP are sufficient. The cost of one sack (50 kg) of solid DAP is Rs 1,350, compared to which the use of Nano DAP saves Rs 75 per acre. This combination is equivalent to one sack of solid DAP in terms of nutrition. Farmers have been made aware of the use of Nano DAP. They have also been taught its method by giving them a demo. Sensing the possibility of shortage of solid DAP in time, the state government launched an intensive awareness campaign among farmers regarding the use of Nano DAP. With the help of the field staff of the Agriculture Department, scientists of Krishi Vigyan Kendras and progressive farmers, the methods of combined use of Nano DAP with solid DAP in the fields were explained to the farmers. Demos were shown to the farmers and detailed information was given through Krishi Chaupals organized in villages and “Vikasit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan”. Along with this, pamphlets, banners and posters related to Nano DAP have been displayed in cooperative societies. Field staff of the Agriculture Department are constantly visiting the fields and informing the farmers about the use of Nano DAP and its benefits, as a result of which farmers are using Nano DAP in their paddy crop with full confidence.
