Raipur: General Manager of the country’s largest bank, State Bank of India (SBI), Shri Ram Kumar Tiwari launched the Cyber Security Awareness Campaign today on 02/12/2024 in the entire Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh by State Bank of India, to make the customers and general public of Chhattisgarh state aware of the continuously increasing incidents of cyber crime in the country. Dr. Santosh Kumar Singh, IPS and SSP, Raipur was the chief guest of the program. In his address, General Manager Shri Tiwari made the customers and the members present aware of the continuously increasing cyber crime in daily banking transactions and called for taking full caution and told all the customers the measures to be cautious about the increasing cyber crime.
In his presidential address, Dr. Santosh Kumar Singh, IPS and SSP Raipur explained in detail the police action regarding various methods and crimes related to cyber crime, making customers aware and pointing out the commitment of SBI, being the largest commercial bank of the country, towards the safety of their money, described this effort of SBI as the need of the hour and appreciated this effort of the bank. On this occasion, he discussed in detail about TRAI phone fraud, holding of parcels at customs, digital arrest, arrest of a family member, the lure of getting rich quickly through trading, the lure of giving big remuneration for easy work/online job, winning lottery, money being lost by mistake, expiry of KYC period, liberal tax refund etc. and called upon to avoid these and not attend the calls and links received from them. He motivated the customers not to be afraid of threats and to report suspicious calls on Chakshu portal. He assured the customers and staff members that the police and bank administration of Chhattisgarh are continuously working in the interest of the customers and suggested to report cyber crime to National Cyber Helpline -1930, report cyber crime on www.cybercrime.gov.in or [email protected].
At the end of the program, an effort was made to develop awareness about cyber crime among customers, staff members and police personnel through street play. Deputy General Manager Rakesh Kumar Sinha and Regional Manager Vibhas Kumar along with the guests flagged off the cyber awareness van to develop awareness among customers and general public in villages, towns and cities of Chhattisgarh to avoid cyber crime. This cyber awareness van will develop awareness among customers and general public about cyber crime in 33 districts of Chhattisgarh by organizing street plays at important places with video and audio medium in all the districts from 02.12.2024 to 31.01.2025. On this occasion, Police Station Incharge Civil Line Rohit Malekar, a large number of customers, bank staff members, police department officers/employees and media persons were present. The bank customers also appreciated this program and called it very useful for the general public.
