Deputy Chief Minister honored Swachhta Didi and Safai Karamcharis for their contribution in making Raipur the fourth cleanest city of the country

Raipur Municipal Corporation honored 25 Swachhta Inspectors, 144 Swachhta Didi and 52 Safai Mitras
Raipur. 23 July 2025. To make Raipur the cleanest city of the country, public participation in cleanliness work will have to be increased. Every person, every family of the city will have to be connected with this mission, only then we will be able to make Raipur the cleanest city of the country. Deputy Chief Minister and Urban Administration and Development Minister Arun Saw said these things today at the honor ceremony of Swachhta Didi and Safai Mitras organized at Shaheed Memorial Bhavan in Raipur. In the Swachh Survey 2024-25 of the Government of India, Raipur was ranked the fourth cleanest city in the country among cities with a million plus population, seven star ranking in garbage-free city and Water Plus certification, highlighting their active contribution, Swachhta Didi and Safai Mitras were honored. In the felicitation ceremony organized by Raipur Municipal Corporation, along with the sanitation officers and employees of all the zones, 25 sanitation inspectors, 144 Swachhta Didi and 52 Safai Mitras were honored.
Addressing the felicitation ceremony, Deputy Chief Minister Arun Saw said that in the Swachh Survey 2024-25 of the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, seven cities of the state including Raipur have been recognized at the national level for excellent work for cleanliness. Out of 169 cities of the state included in the Swachh Survey, 115 cities have improved their ranking. Swachhta Didi and Safai Mitras have an invaluable contribution in this achievement of Chhattisgarh, for which they deserve congratulations. A state level program will also be organized by the Urban Administration and Development Department to honor them. Sao said that the state government is providing all possible support to the urban bodies to make the cities clean, beautiful and comfortable. To make the cities clean and beautiful, the public representatives and officials of the urban bodies will have to work seriously to increase public participation.
Raipur Municipal Corporation Mayor Meenal Chaubey said in the ceremony that our Swachhata Didi and Safai Mitras are the foundation stones of the achievements that Raipur has achieved in the Swachh Survey. Cleanliness is a work of service and dedication which they are doing with full dedication. In the coming time, we will all work seriously and actively to make Raipur the cleanest city in the country. Chairman Suryakant Rathore, while addressing the sanitation workers, said that you people carry out your work even in the sun, rain and cold to make the city clean and beautiful. Due to your hard work, we have got a chance to be honored in New Delhi. You people have done commendable work even in the difficult times of Corona epidemic. Gayatri Chandrakar, Chairman of Health Department in Raipur Municipal Corporation and Commissioner Vishwadeep also addressed the ceremony. Additional Commissioner of the Corporation US Agarwal, Vinod Pandey and Health Officer Ms. Preeti Singh, along with the chairmen of all the zones, MIC members, councilors, officers-employees and sanitation workers were present in large numbers in the felicitation ceremony.
