Inauguration of 3 new Chhattisgarh State Rural Banks in Jashpur district
New bank branches started in villages Ara, Kudekela and Chichhli
About 44 thousand people of 23 gram panchayats and 48 dependent villages will get benefit
Raipur 10 August 2025: Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai said that it is the priority of our government to provide banking facilities in remote rural areas of the state and district, so that financial services are accessible to farmers, traders and common citizens in their own villages. He said that banking services not only accelerate economic activities, but also form the basis for the effective implementation of government schemes. Chief Minister Sai inaugurated new branches of Chhattisgarh State Rural Bank in village Ara of Jashpur development block, village Kudekela (Gharjiabathan) of Pathalgaon development block and village Chichhli of Bagia development block through virtual medium from the Chief Minister’s Camp Office in Bagiya village of Jashpur district. On this occasion, he also released the 12th Annual Report of Chhattisgarh State Rural Bank.
More than 44 thousand villagers will be benefited Chief Minister Sai, while addressing the program virtually, said that with the opening of three new branches of Chhattisgarh State Rural Bank in Jashpur district, about 44 thousand people of 23 gram panchayats and 48 dependent villages will get direct benefit. Now the villagers will not have to go far for banking work, which will save time and money. Villagers will get financial services from Atal Digital Suvidha Kendra Chief Minister Sai said that Atal Digital Suvidha Kendras have been started in 268 panchayats of Jashpur district, through which transactions worth about Rs 15 crore have been done so far. There is a plan to start these facilities in all the panchayats of the district by the upcoming Panchayat Day. From these centers, services related to banking, insurance and government schemes will be available to the villagers in their village itself.
Sarpanch Anima Minj of village Chichhli of Jashpur district, Sarpanch Manoj Bhagat of Ara and Sarpanch Shashikanta Pankra of Kudekela said that now all banking facilities will be available locally to the villagers of their area with the new bank branches. MLA Raimuni Bhagat, who virtually connected with Gram Panchayat Ara, said that with the opening of the bank, the beneficiaries will get the benefit of beneficiary-oriented schemes directly through the bank. MLA Gomti Sai, who virtually connected with village Kudekela, referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Jan Dhan Yojana, said that this has increased financial awareness among the people and now the development of rural areas will gain momentum through 3 new rural banks. District Panchayat President Salik Sai also expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister. With the opening of these 3 new branches, the total number of branches of Chhattisgarh State Rural Bank in the district has increased to 30. In this program organized at the camp office, Matikala Board Chairman Shambhunath Chakraborty, District Panchayat members Ved Prakash Bhagat, Upendra Yadav, Sunil Gupta, District Panchayat CEO Abhishek Kumar, Chhattisgarh State Rural Bank Chairman Vinod Arora, along with public representatives and villagers of all three Gram Panchayats were present through virtual medium.
