Raipur – Today, Mayor of Municipal Corporation Raipur, Smt. Meenal Chaubey and Commissioner Vishwadeep, along with councilors and officials, inspected the pre-monsoon cleaning of various drains of the city. Mayor Smt. Meenal Chaubey and Commissioner Vishwadeep inspected the waterlogging areas of Kushalpur Gali No. 1 to 15 under Zone 5, Marble Line Drain, Dharam Nagar Drain, Chhattisgarh Nagar Drain in Pachpedinaaka Chowk in Zone 6, Kushalpur Drain and Chuiya Talab in Zone 5 area, Drain behind Indoor Stadium, Santoshi Nagar Drain in Zone 6 area, Sanjay Nagar Bakra Market. During this, Mayor and Commissioner along with Zone 5 Chairman Amber Agarwal, Zone 6 Chairman Badri Prasad Gupta, Pandit Vamanrao Lakhe Ward Councilor Babbi Sonkar, Corporation Health Officer Dr. Tripti Panigrahi, Zone Commissioners of Zone 4,5,6, Executive Engineers, Zone Health Officers were present. During the inspection, Mayor Mrs. Meenal Choubey and Commissioner Vishwadeep directed to take action by issuing notice to the occupants of Sanjay Nagar Bakra Market. Instructions were given to clean the marble line drain at Pachpedinaaka by removing the debris till the bottom before the rains and to get the illegal barriers built on the drain cleaned by breaking them. Instructions have been given that wherever there is hindrance in cleaning in the capital city, the barriers should be immediately broken and cleaned to make the drainage smooth before the rains. Instructions have been given to complete the entire drain cleaning work by 30th May. The Mayor and the Commissioner have directed to get the Kushalpur Chuiya pond cleaned as early as possible.
