NCC-NSS also benefit
The Board of Secondary Education has sought a list from the Education Department by March 25
Raipur, February 24, 2025: Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education will give 10 to 20 bonus marks in the board examination to the sports students of 10th and 12th by the Board of Secondary Education. Students involved in NCC, NSS, Scout-Guide, Literacy Program Volunteers and other selected activities will also get the benefit of bonus marks. Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education Secretary Pushpa Sahu has sent a letter to the Education Department for this and sought a list of players. Students participating in state level games will be given 10 marks, those participating at the national level will get 15 marks and students performing at the international level will get 20 additional marks.
The Board of Secondary Education has directed the District Education Officers and Education Department officials to send the list of eligible students from the schools in their area to the Board of Secondary Education office by the stipulated time, so that the process of adding bonus marks during the examination can be completed smoothly. Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education has started the process of giving bonus marks to students on the basis of excellent performance in sports and other co-curricular activities in the board examinations of session 2024-25. For this, a list of eligible students has been sought from all the schools by March 25, 2025. Under this scheme, only students participating in competitions certified by the Indian Olympic Association, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, School Games Federation of India and other recognized bodies will be eligible. Apart from this, cadets participating in NCC’s RD Parade, Air Force, Navy and Army Camp will also be given marks. The purpose of this decision is to encourage students to participate in sports and co-curricular activities.
