-Rice millers agreed to continue lifting of paddy and custom milling
1 December 2024: Due to non-lifting of paddy from paddy procurement centers in Chhattisgarh, the situation of jam in the centers and the problem faced by farmers in selling paddy has been resolved. On the initiative of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, due to positive talks between the officials of Rice Mill Association with Laghu Udyog Bharti and Bharatiya Kisan Sangh to resolve this problem at the government level, rice millers have decided to regularly lift paddy from paddy procurement centers and continue custom milling. With the assurance of early payment of the outstanding amount of the millers of the past years by the government, their other demands were resolved.
The result of the meeting held on the initiative of Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai and with the efforts of Food Minister Dayaldas Baghel and Health Minister Shyambihari Jaiswal was that the millers will continuously lift paddy from the paddy procurement centers and will deposit their share of rice in Food Corporation of India and Civil Supplies Corporation by doing custom milling at a fast pace.
It is worth noting that paddy is being procured from farmers at the support price in Chhattisgarh from 14 November. A large quantity of paddy is arriving at the procurement centers. On the initiative of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, it was decided to pay the pending amount of rice millers soon. Rice millers have agreed to this decision of the government and have agreed to lift and mill paddy from the centers, due to which paddy will be lifted from the procurement centers at a fast pace and farmers will not face any problem in selling paddy. Bharatiya Kisan Sangh officials, State Organization Minister Mr. Tularam, State President Mr. Madhav Thakur, State General Secretary Mr. Naveen Shesh and State Treasurer Mr. Gajanand Tidharskar, along with Laghu Udyog Bharati State President Mr. Om Prakash Singhania, State General Secretary Dr. (Mrs.) CP Dubey, State Executive Member Mr. Mohan Patel have expressed gratitude towards the sensitive initiative of Chief Minister Mr. Vishnu Dev Sai for resolving the problems of farmers.
