Now Complaints Of MLAs And Councilors Will Be Heard Immediately, Meenal Gave Instructions To Appoint Nodal Officers

The septic tanks and main holes of the sumpwells of the city should be covered immediately, so that in future no tragic incident like Gulmohar Park happens again.

Raipur: Today, Mayor of Municipal Corporation Raipur, Smt. Meenal Chaubey, while reviewing the drinking water in the capital city of Raipur, took an important meeting of the Municipal Corporation Water Department and directed the officers in the presence of Water Works Department Chairman Santosh Seema Sahu. The Mayor has asked the Commissioner to appoint 4 separate nodal officers in relation to drinking water in all the four assembly constituencies of Raipur city and give those officers the responsibility to solve the drinking water problems told by the MLAs and ward councilors of the area, and give the responsibility to the Assembly level nodal officer to keep in touch with the zone officers and review the situation. On the instructions of the Mayor, the Commissioner has ordered to appoint Executive Engineer Anshul Sharma Senior as Nodal Officer and Assistant Engineer Shailendra Patel as Assistant Nodal Officer for the work related to filling potholes in the capital city of Raipur.

The Mayor clearly directed that the main holes of septic tanks and sumpwells in all BSUP and Pradhan Mantri Awas Colonies and other premises of the Municipal Corporation should be covered immediately and arrangements should be made to immediately fill the pits dug for drinking water related and construction works if they are fit to be filled at the site. Otherwise, all zone officers should ensure that adequate security cordon, red flags, information signs and barricading are immediately and compulsorily taken care of at all sites on priority basis so that the very sad accident that happened in Gulmohar Park Pradhan Mantri Awas Colony is not repeated anywhere in the capital city in future. In the review meeting conducted by Mayor Smt. Meenal Chaubey, Corporation Additional Commissioner Rajendra Prasad Gupta Pankaj K Sharma, Smt. Krishna Khatik, Superintending Engineer Sanjay Bagde, Water Department Advisor Retired Superintending Engineer Badri Chandrakar, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Divya Chandravanshi, all zone commissioners, executive engineers, assistant engineers, sub-engineers were present.
