Mayor Meenal Gave Instructions To The Officials To Ensure Water Supply In The City

Officers should take the water crisis seriously, should not be limited to offices only, should go to the wards and assess the situation.

Today Raipur, Mayor of Municipal Corporation Raipur, Mrs. Meenal Chaubey held an important meeting of the Corporation Water Department regarding the proper availability of drinking water in the capital city of Raipur and instructed the officers in the presence of Water Works Department Chairman Santosh Seema Sahu. Mayor Mrs. Meenal Chaubey clearly instructed that all necessary measures should be implemented on priority to ensure proper and continuous availability of drinking water in the capital city of Raipur. The Chhattisgarh Government has declared the availability of drinking water in Raipur city as the top priority, so all the concerned officers should take any possibility of water crisis seriously and ensure prompt action. The Mayor said that it is the experience of previous years that there have been constant problems of drivers in tankers. Therefore, keep two drivers instead of one in each tanker and the system which was not right in the previous system should be corrected with priority this time. The Mayor said that she will review the reality of compliance with the instructions of the review meeting after a week and then she should get a better situation than the current situation in relation to drinking water in the city. The Mayor discussed the status of rain water harvesting with the Municipal Investment Engineers in the meeting and took information and directed them to run a campaign again for rain water harvesting to improve the ground water level in the city and get rain water harvesting done in the houses and firms of the citizens on priority basis as per the rules on their deposits or take necessary action as per the rules if it is not done.

The Mayor has instructed the officers of the Municipal Investment Department to run the Rain Water Harvesting campaign in the city seriously. Mayor Mrs. Meenal Chaubey told all the officers of the Water Department that they should not be limited to the offices only, but go to the wards and assess the situation. The officers should decide on what can be the solution where there is a problem of drinking water. If there is a minor problem in the hand pump running in the city, run a campaign for its necessary repair and improvement and if there is any small problem in the hand pump, then solve it immediately. The mayor said that tubewells should be installed where the groundwater level is stable and the water is satisfactory. Arrangement of tankers should be ensured as per the requirement and the number of tankers should be increased if needed. The concerned officers should also keep in mind that there should be no leakage of water. Water Works Department Chairman Santosh Seema Sahu directed all the zone commissioners to continuously monitor the work of providing proper and continuous drinking water to the citizens through drinking water tankers during summer in all the zone offices and put 2 sub-engineers on duty in every zone so that water availability to the citizens through tankers can be done in an orderly manner according to practical requirement during summer from all the zones. In the review meeting conducted by Mayor Mrs. Meenal Chaubey, Corporation Additional Commissioner Rajendra Prasad Gupta, Pankaj K Sharma, Mrs. Krishna Khatik, Superintending Engineer Sanjay Bagde, Water Department Advisor Retired Superintending Engineer Badri Chandrakar, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Divya Chandravanshi, all zone commissioners, executive engineers, assistant engineers, sub-engineers were present.
