Speeding Bus Mows Down Bike Waiting At Signal, One Killed, Others Injured

Kondagaon – A heartbreaking road accident took place near Gandhi Chowk in Kondagaon, Chhattisgarh, on Friday, leaving one person dead on the spot and three others injured. The accident happened when a speeding bus crashed into a motorcycle that was waiting at a traffic signal from behind.  According to the police, Kamlesh Netam, a resident of Baniyagaon, died on the spot. The other three injured have been identified as Kamla Netam (40) from Baniyagaon, Sonmati Koram (55), and Ranu Koram (25), both residents of Sandonar. All of them were seriously hurt and rushed to the district hospital, where they are currently being treated. Police reached the spot and began their investigation As soon as they got the news, the local police arrived at the scene and started investigating. Officers said the bus driver and conductor fled the spot right after the crash. The bus has been seized and efforts are on to trace and take the accused into custody. Bus had climbed onto the divider Police said that based on initial findings, the accident seems to have happened due to the bus being driven at high speed and in a careless manner. A huge crowd gathered at the scene, and the police had a tough time managing it. Eyewitnesses said the bus ended up climbing onto the divider after the collision.
