Raipur, 12 April 2025: Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai today attended the swearing-in ceremony of the newly appointed chairmen of Chhattisgarh State Seed and Agriculture Development Corporation Limited and Chhattisgarh State Farmers Welfare Council in Sector-24 of Nava Raipur. He congratulated and wished the newly appointed Chairman of Chhattisgarh State Seed and Agriculture Development Corporation Limited Chandrahas Chandrakar and the newly appointed Chairman of Chhattisgarh State Farmers Welfare Council Suresh Kumar Chandravanshi for their new responsibilities.
On this occasion, Chief Minister Sai said that in agriculture-dominated Chhattisgarh, Chhattisgarh State Seed and Agriculture Development Corporation Limited and Chhattisgarh State Farmers Welfare Council have a very important role in the development of farmers and agriculture. Farmers are the backbone of our economy. Fields flourish only when the seed is good. In such a situation, it is the responsibility of Chhattisgarh State Seed and Agriculture Development Corporation Limited to ensure that good quality seeds are available to the farmers on time. He said that both the chairmen taking charge today are farmers themselves. They understand the difficulties of the farmers very well. Certainly, both the chairmen will discharge their responsibilities well. Chief Minister Sai said that our government understands the pain and suffering of the farmers. Under the leadership of our illustrious Prime Minister Narendra Modi, many schemes are being run for the development of agriculture and farmers, which are also benefiting Chhattisgarh. Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the creator of Chhattisgarh, started the Kisan Credit Card Scheme to solve the problems of farmers. During the tenure of former Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh, loan facility was started for farmers at zero percent interest. International cargo facility will start soon at Raipur Airport
Chief Minister Sai said that international cargo facility will start soon at Raipur Airport. This will provide international market to the farmers’ produce and they will benefit. Chief Minister Sai urged the farmer brothers and sisters of the state to produce millets, maize and such crops which consume less water. He said that we need to move towards organic farming. The Chief Minister said that the Solar Sujala Yojana will be restarted, in which solar irrigation pumps will be provided to farmers on subsidy. The Chief Minister also urged farmers to adopt horticulture, fisheries, animal husbandry along with farming to increase their income. He told farmers and villagers that a survey of Awas Plus-Plus Yojana is being conducted, they should participate in this survey. He said that the eligibility of the housing scheme has been increased. Now those who have 5 acres of non-irrigated land, 2.5 acres of irrigated land, a motorcycle, as well as those with a monthly income of 15 thousand are also eligible for the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. He said that in the five years of the previous government, the poor had to be deprived of 18 lakh Pradhan Mantri Awas. The Chief Minister said that our government is committed to giving the poor their rights. On the second day of taking oath, we approved 18 lakh houses in the cabinet meeting. In the last 14 months, we have received the amount of 14 lakh houses from the Center. Union Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan is going to give the amount of three and a half lakh more houses to Chhattisgarh soon. Deputy Chief Minister Arun Saw said that Chhattisgarh Krishak Kalyan Parishad and Chhattisgarh Seed Development Corporation have a significant contribution in making better innovations and new schemes for farmers. Our government has given this responsibility to two very experienced, skilled organizers, farmer sons from the grassroots level. Certainly, the farmer brothers of the state will get its benefit.

With his blessings, our government is committed to the development of farmers. Chhattisgarh Krishak Kalyan Parishad and Chhattisgarh Seed Development Corporation have a significant contribution in the agriculture sector. There is an important responsibility to provide quality seeds to the farmers within the appropriate time frame. Along with this, there is also a responsibility to promote advanced techniques in agriculture. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Saw, our government is continuously working in the interest of farmers, whether it is paddy procurement at 31 hundred per quintal or in the purchase of forest produce. The result of this is that the agricultural area has increased in the state from paddy production to other crops, vegetables. On this occasion, the newly appointed Chairman of Chhattisgarh State Seed and Agriculture Development Corporation Limited Chandrahas Chandrakar and Chairman of Chhattisgarh State Farmers Welfare Council Suresh Kumar Chandravanshi were congratulated for the new responsibility. On this occasion MP Raipur Brijmohan Agarwal, Rajnandgaon Santosh Pandey, Mahasamund Mrs. Roopkumari Chaudhary, MLA Raipur Rural Motilal Sahu, Raipur North MLA Purandar Mishra, Basna Sampat Agarwal along with Chairmen of various Divisional Commissions, officers-employees of Chhattisgarh State Seed and Agriculture Development Corporation Limited and Chhattisgarh State Farmers Welfare Council and a large number of farmers were present.
