Raipur 15 April 2025: Special provisions have been made in the new Industrial Development Policy 2024-30 to promote industrial development in Bastar division under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai. In the discussion towards developed Bastar organized in Jagdalpur today, the role of industries in the development of Bastar division was discussed. Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai said that under the new industrial policy, a roadmap has been prepared to promote micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) in Bastar division as well as to realize the unlimited possibilities of mineral based, agriculture, food processing and tourism industries. If we look at the industrial scenario of Bastar, currently 690 MSME units are operating in Bastar division. The 3 major sectors of Bastar division include rice mill, brick manufacturing and metal manufacturing industries. Major companies like NMDC Mining, NMDC Steel, Essar, Braj Ispat and AMNS India are established here. The division exports about Rs 102 crore, in which iron ore has the highest share.v To move towards developed Bastar, as per Industrial Policy 2024-30, 28 out of 32 development blocks have been classified under Group 3 for the development of Bastar division, so that industries get maximum encouragement. There is a provision of royalty reimbursement for 15 years for the steel industry. To bring Bastar into the mainstream of development, the new industrial policy provides employment subsidy for surrendered naxalites at 40% of net salary for 5 years. There is a provision of additional subsidy of 10% for SC/ST and Naxalism affected people. There is a provision of training expense reimbursement and margin money subsidy for youth, which is up to 25% for new MSMEs set up by SC/ST and Naxalism affected persons. b The roadmap towards a developed Bastar led by Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai includes strengthening land bank management and ease of doing business. Training centers are being set up for local industries (textiles, food processing, handicrafts), especially focusing on tribal youth and women entrepreneurship. Clusters are being set up for steel, metal processing, agriculture, forest produce based industries and herbal-medicinal products. Construction of all-weather roads in rural and tribal areas and integration with the national logistics network is underway. Special schemes are being run to promote innovation and entrepreneurship to support startups.
On this occasion, Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai said that in the coming times, complete peace will be established and Naxalism will be completely eradicated. He said that we have to strengthen the people of Bastar economically so that we can move towards developed Bastar. There is a proper environment for industry here and we have also made special provisions in the new industrial policy for industries. Sai said that along with industrial development in Bastar division, it is our priority to create employment and self-employment opportunities for local youth, women and Naxalism affected people. This policy will take Bastar to new heights of industrial and economic prosperity. He said that by making maximum use of forest resources, we can make the local people prosperous and our government will also pay special attention to Mahua based industry.
