Hope Of New Life Is Being Found From Chief Minister Special Health Assistance Scheme

-Assistance received in 1211 cases in 9 months, approval of financial assistance of Rs 43 crore 16 lakh

Raipur 25 November 2024: Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai is approving financial assistance for the needy people under the Chief Minister Special Health Assistance Scheme with the aim of providing better health facilities to the citizens of the state. Chief Minister Special Health Assistance Scheme is being operated by expanding Sanjeevani Sahayata Kosh to save the expenses incurred in the treatment of serious and rare diseases. Citizens of the state are benefiting from this scheme.

Within 9 months, the needy have got assistance in 1211 cases under the scheme and during this time financial assistance of Rs 43 crore 16 lakh has been approved to them.

Under the same scheme, Smt. Urmila Devi Sidar, resident of village Parsa under Malkharoda development block of Sakti district, husband late. Mr. Kedarnath Sidar is undergoing free cancer treatment. Mrs. Urmila told that after the death of her husband, due to the poor financial condition of the house, she was unable to get treatment for this serious disease. In a way, she had also given up hope of living. In the initial phase, she got her treatment done with the amount received from the Ayushman Card Scheme. But she needed even more money for the treatment of cancer. Then she got information about the Chief Minister Special Health Assistance Scheme. On which he applied to avail the benefit of the Chief Minister Special Health Assistance Scheme and the assistance amount was approved in July 2024.

Currently, under the scheme, he is being treated free of cost at Mekahara Hospital, Raipur. Mrs. Urmila Devi Sidar told that chemotherapy is being done every 21 days for the treatment of her cancer, along with other medicines are also being given. She told that if she had not got the benefit of the Chief Minister Special Health Assistance Scheme, then she would hardly have been able to get treatment for this serious disease.

Mrs. Urmila has thanked the Chhattisgarh Government for providing her support through this scheme in this difficult time in her life. She has expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the Chief Minister of the state,  Vishnu Dev Sai.

It is noteworthy that under the Chief Minister Special Health Assistance Scheme, free treatment facility up to a maximum of Rs 25 lakh is being provided to the eligible families of the state for the treatment of identified rare diseases. Chhattisgarh is the first state which is providing such a huge amount for the treatment of the citizens of the state, due to which the citizens are getting better health facilities and a healthy and better Chhattisgarh is being built.
