They are still being supplied electricity as before. The highest amount of arrears is owed by the Gram Panchayats. They owe 10 crore 12 lakh 55 thousand 269 rupees in electricity bills.
Government departments have been issued notices to deposit the outstanding electricity bills. They are also appealing to domestic consumers to deposit their outstanding bills. 95 connections were disconnected last month There are 28600 electricity consumers in Dhamtari city. The department needs to recover 2 crore 10 lakh rupees from them. 7757 consumers have outstanding electricity bills. 95 consumers’ electricity connections have been disconnected. The total amount is about 17 lakh rupees. After the action, 400 consumers have deposited 42 lakh rupees in arrears. The action of disconnecting electricity connections is continuing.
According to the government’s scheme, regular bill paying consumers get the benefit of 400 units of free electricity. There are 7357 consumers who have not paid their electricity bills for 2 or more months, so they are not getting the benefit of the discount. To avail the discount, they will have to pay the outstanding electricity bill first.
