8 Lakh Metric Tonnes Increase In Rice Procurement Target

Raipur 18 July 2025: Taking a very important decision in the interest of the farmers of the state, the Central Government has increased the target of rice procurement for the Central Pool from 70 lakh metric tonnes to 78 lakh metric tonnes for the Kharif marketing year 2024-25. This decision empowers the hard work and faith of lakhs of food producers of the state. Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Minister Prahlad Joshi on this important decision and said that the double engine government is determined for the prosperity of the food producers of the state.

Chief Minister Sai, while posting on the social media platform ‘X’, said that it is a matter of great joy for the state that the government of the successful Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji, which keeps the interests of our food producers paramount, has approved increasing the target of rice procurement in the Central Pool from 70 lakh metric tonnes to 78 lakh metric tonnes for the Kharif marketing year 2024-25. Due to the efforts of our government, the central government has approved the procurement of 08 lakh metric tonnes of additional rice. Chief Minister Sai said that this decision will further strengthen the economic condition of the farmers of Chhattisgarh. It will also provide new energy to the agricultural economy of the state.
