Janjgir gets new tehsil building after 142 years

This tehsil was built in 1883 during the British rule

Revenue matters of 24 Patwari Halkas of 54 villages will be settled from the new tehsil office

The new tehsil building is constructed at a cost of Rs 4.21 crore

Raipur, 5 May 2025: Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai, who arrived on a surprise visit under Sushasan Tihaar, Samvad se Samadhan, has given a big gift to the people of Janjgir in the form of a new tehsil office building. After 142 years, the citizens of Janjgir have got a new gift. Today, Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai inaugurated the newly constructed tehsil office building in the district during a surprise visit. The old tehsil office built in 1883 during the British rule has now become history, and in its place a new building equipped with state-of-the-art facilities has been dedicated to the service of the people. This new tehsil building has been constructed at a cost of four crore 21 lakhs.

Chief Minister Sai said on this occasion that “It is the priority of the government to ensure simple and easy access to services to the common man. This new tehsil office is an important step in this direction.” He also informed that this building will provide revenue related services to the citizens of 54 villages and 24 Patwari areas of this area under one roof. Major services are available in the new tehsil office for better operation of administrative and judicial work. Many facilities like Public Service Center – Caste, Residence, Income Certificate are available in these. Similarly, arrival and dispatch of documents in the incoming-outgoing branch, maintenance of judicial documents in the Nazir branch, voter list and election related work in the election branch,

maintenance of land and revenue records in the Kanungo branch and revenue collection and financial management work will be conducted in the Maljamadar room. Also, in this office building, fully equipped rooms have been prepared for Sub-Divisional Officer Revenue and Court, Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Tehsildar and Court, Tehsildar Executive Magistrate, Additional Tehsildar and Court, Additional Tehsildar and Executive Magistrate, Naib Tehsildar and Court, Naib Tehsildar and Executive Magistrate. On this historic occasion, Finance Minister O P Choudhary, former Leader of Opposition Narayan Chandel, MLA Vyas Kashyap, District Panchayat Chairperson Smt. Satyakala Miri, former MLA Saurabh Singh, Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Subodh Singh, Secretary P Dayanand, Nagar Panchayat Chairperson Smt. Rekha Deva Gadewal along with senior officers of district administration, local public representatives and a large number of citizens were present. / Om
