Journalists expressed gratitude on the announcement of Rs 1 crore for the renovation of Press Club

Raipur, March 12, 2025; Holi is not only a festival of colors, but also an opportunity to strengthen mutual love, harmony and brotherhood. This festival inspires us to forget small differences and start friendship afresh. Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai said this at the Holi Milan ceremony organized by Raipur Press Club. Chief Minister danced with journalists amidst colors. Chief Minister Sai was welcomed by the members of Raipur Press Club in a unique way by garlanding him with ladyfinger. On this occasion, the Chief Minister also released the Holi special issue of Press Club ‘Senseless Times’. Chief Minister Sai said that Raipur Press Club has a glorious tradition of celebrating festivals together. Every year I get an opportunity to participate in this Holi festival. I express my heartfelt gratitude to the Raipur Press Club family. May this festival full of joy and gaiety infuse new energy and enthusiasm in the lives of all of you, this is my best wishes. Chief Minister played the drum, journalists danced in the joy of colors. A unique sight of colors and enthusiasm was seen at the Holi Milan function of Raipur Press Club, when Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai himself doubled the enthusiasm of the celebration by playing the drum. As soon as the Chief Minister played the drum, the journalists and dignitaries present at the function encouraged him with applause and a wave of joy ran across the entire atmosphere. To the tune of traditional drums, the Chief Minister was also seen dancing with the journalists to the Faag songs and the fun of Holi. A unique amalgamation of music, celebration and mutual brotherhood was seen in this colorful atmosphere of Holi.

Big gift for journalists, budget provision of Rs 1 crore for Press Club Chief Minister Shri Sai, while praising the tradition of Raipur Press Club, said that many important decisions have been taken in the interest of journalists in this year’s budget. He said that journalists are the mirror of the society, who play an important role in strengthening democracy. A budget provision of Rs 1 crore has been made to develop Raipur Press Club in accordance with the dignity of the capital, through which its building will be renovated and expanded. Apart from this, a demand for exposure visit for journalists was also raised, fulfilling which a separate budget provision of Rs 1 crore has been made. Expressing concern for the welfare of senior journalists, Chief Minister Sai said that the government has increased the Samman Nidhi from Rs 10,000 to Rs 20,000 per month so that the colleagues who have served the people in the field of journalism for a long time do not have to face financial difficulties after retirement. Chief Minister Sai said that I feel that this Holi is not only a festival of colors and fun of Faag, but has also brought a big gift for journalist friends. Referring to the special program organized recently on International Women’s Day, the Chief Minister said that on this occasion he honored women journalists and got an opportunity to understand their struggle and achievements closely. He said that there are many challenges in women journalism, but their courage and determination are equally high. Important role of journalists as sentinels of democracy Chief Minister Sai said that journalists are the sentinels of democracy, who have important responsibilities. In such a situation, such cultural and get-togethers are necessary for them, which promote mutual harmony apart from the pressure of work.

Raipur Press Club has been organizing Holi Milan and cultural programs for years. This tradition should continue in future as well.
