Chhattisgarh’s First Pharmaceutical Park Will Be Built In Nava Raipur

NRDA gave 142 acres of land

Raipur, 29 December 2024: Chhattisgarh is going to be the new pharmaceutical hub of Central India. Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai has approved it. To increase new research, development and international investment from the pharmaceutical park, Nava Raipur Atal Nagar Development Authority (NRDA) has allotted 141.84 acres of land to Chhattisgarh State Industrial Development Corporation (CSIDC) in Sector 22 Village Tuta for the establishment of a pharmaceutical park.

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, the state government is promoting the pharmaceutical sector along with expanding health facilities. The Chief Minister said that with the thought that world-class medical services should be easily accessible to the common people in Chhattisgarh, continuous efforts are being made to create an effective eco-system in the medical sector in the state. If Chhattisgarh is to be made a developed state by the year 2047, then it is necessary to make health facilities strong and people-oriented. The establishment of a pharmaceutical park is a part of this. He informed that the new industrial policy also provides for several facilities and concessions to industries in the pharmaceutical sector. The Chief Minister said that this project will increase domestic and international investment as well as promote healthy competition in the pharmaceutical sector and will give impetus to the economy of Chhattisgarh along with providing employment to local youth. With the establishment of the pharmaceutical park, we will be able to easily meet the increasing demand for healthcare products at the domestic and global level. He said that through the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Ayushman Health Scheme of Chhattisgarh, 77 lakh 20 thousand families of the state are getting free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh, which is targeted to be increased to Rs 10 lakh in the coming time. Under the Chief Minister Special Health Assistance Scheme, financial assistance of up to Rs 25 lakh is being provided for treatment in special conditions.

Finance Minister OP Choudhary informed that all necessary facilities will be provided to pharmaceutical units specializing in AYUSH products in the pharmaceutical park. This park will be equipped with modern infrastructure including a flatted factory complex and a Common Effluent Treatment Plant (CETP). Essential services like research and development centre and testing laboratory will also be included in it.

It is noteworthy that the Chhattisgarh government has made a provision to provide industrial investment incentives up to 100 percent of the amount invested on items of permanent capital investment in the project for large enterprises in the pharmaceutical sector in the state. There is a provision to reimburse up to 100 percent of the net SGST paid for maximum permanent capital investment or to provide permanent capital investment grant to pharmaceutical units for 12 years from the date of starting commercial production. The Chhattisgarh government has also made a provision to provide a maximum grant of Rs 60 crore on capital investment of more than Rs 50 crore but less than Rs 200 crore, a limit of Rs 150 crore on capital investment of more than Rs 200 crore but less than Rs 500 crore and a maximum grant of Rs 300 crore on capital investment of more than Rs 500 crore. Provision has been made in the new industrial policy of Chhattisgarh government to give several concessions to pharmaceutical units including exemption in electricity duty for 12 years, exemption from stamp duty, 50 percent reimbursement in registration fee and fee payable on new electricity connection.
