Inauguration of three-day Kisan Sammelan in village Khapri of Durg district
Raipur 10 January 2025: Union Agriculture and Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that Chhattisgarh will become a bowl of vegetables and fruits along with paddy in the coming times. He said that the Central Government is promoting horticulture and horticultural crops along with agriculture. Union Minister Chouhan was addressing the inaugural ceremony of the three-day Kisan Sammelan organized in village Khapri of Durg district today. On this occasion, the program was presided over by Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai.
On this occasion, Union Minister Chouhan inaugurated the building constructed by the Progressive Farmers Association and performed the Bhoomi Pujan of the Training Center. Also, a truck loaded with 200 quintals of vegetables was flagged off for the Maha Kumbh organized in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh from January 13. On this occasion, the farmers honored Union Agriculture Minister Chouhan by garlanding him and giving him a memento. Union Minister Chauhan said that Rs 203 crore has been released for incentives and grants to make farmers prosperous and promote horticultural crops in Chhattisgarh. He appealed to the farmers to produce tur, moong, urad crops and set up processing units.
Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, while addressing the Kisan Sammelan, said that Chhattisgarh is getting full support from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Central Government for its development. He said that as soon as our government was formed, in the first cabinet meeting, 18 lakh houses were approved, fulfilling the guarantee of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Fulfilling the promise of Prime Minister Modi ji, 21 quintals of paddy is being purchased per acre from the farmers of the state at the rate of Rs 3100. Our government is committed to make the farmers strong and prosperous. Last year 145 lakh metric tons of paddy was purchased, this year 160 lakh metric tons of paddy is expected to be purchased. Agriculture Minister of Chhattisgarh Ramvichar Netam also addressed the Kisan Sammelan. He said that the farmers of Chhattisgarh are very hardworking and are becoming empowered and prosperous by adopting new agricultural techniques. Efforts are also being made by the Chhattisgarh government to get good prices for the crops and increase production. The Kisan Sammelan was organized by Chhattisgarh Yuva Pragatisheel Kisan Sangh in collaboration with the Horticulture Department. On this occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma, MP Vijay Baghel, MLA Domanlal Korsevada, former MLA Devji Bhai Patel, Vimal Chopra, President of Yuva Pragatisheel Kisan Sangh Virendra Lohan along with other members of the Sangh and a large number of farmers were present.
