The state will become self-reliant in electronics manufacturing, youth will get a new platform for innovation and employment
Raipur 6 August 2025: Chhattisgarh has achieved a major achievement in the field of electronics and information technology. Now the state will not have to depend on cities like Bengaluru, Pune or Noida for electronics testing or prototyping. The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India has approved the establishment of Common Facility Center (CFC) in Nava Raipur. This project, prepared under the vision of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai and guidance of Housing and Environment Minister OP Choudhary, will usher in a new era for the electronics industry, startups and youth in the state. This project will also provide attractive incentives to investors in line with the industry policy of Chhattisgarh.
The Common Facility Center will be developed on 3.23 acres of land in Sector-22 of Nava Raipur Atal Nagar. The total cost of this project is Rs 108.43 crore, out of which financial assistance of Rs 75.00 crore has been approved by the MeitY Ministry of Government of India under the EMC 2.0 scheme. The remaining Rs 33.43 crore will be borne by the state government and availability of land is being ensured by Nava Raipur Atal Nagar Vikas Pradhikaran (NRANVP). This Common Facility Center will create a common and conducive environment to promote the electronics industry, where state-of-the-art facilities like Printed Circuit Board (PCB) prototyping, 3D printing, EMC testing and wood workshop will be available. This center will provide specialized lab and testing facilities to electronics based production units like semiconductors, microelectronics, LED lamps, solar charge controllers, electric vehicle (EV) solutions, automation solutions and SCADA panels.
The centre will serve as an important resource hub for electronics manufacturers in the region. For instance, a small LED light manufacturing unit will be able to use CFC’s testing lab to check the quality and safety standards of its products. Similarly, a startup designing a solar charge controller will be able to test its design at the centre’s prototyping facility before mass production. An electric vehicle (EV) component manufacturer can test the electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) of its products to ensure all systems are functioning smoothly. Also, the 3D printing facility will help companies create special jigs or custom enclosures, while the PCB prototyping service will help in quick development and testing of circuit boards, thereby speeding up product manufacturing.
Several attractive schemes are already being run by the Chhattisgarh government to encourage investments in the electronics sector. The establishment of this Common Facility Centre will be further bolstered by the incentives provided under the state’s industry policy, which will accelerate external and local investments in the electronics sector. This project, run by Nava Raipur Atal Nagar Vikas Pradhikaran (NRANVP), will encourage electronics manufacturing and investment in the state. Through this, the economy will be strengthened at the state and regional level and new employment opportunities will be created for the youth.
Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai described the project as a historic achievement towards the technology revolution and said that this initiative will make the state self-reliant and technologically rich. He said that this will not only encourage innovation and startups, but will also provide world-class testing and prototyping facilities to the industries, making Chhattisgarh a powerhouse in the field of electronics manufacturing. Housing and Environment Minister OP Choudhary said on this occasion that projects like Common Facility Center will strengthen the technical infrastructure of Chhattisgarh. This will provide state-of-the-art resources to local startups, youth and entrepreneurs, which were earlier limited to big cities. This initiative under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai will make Chhattisgarh a leader in the digital and electronics sector.
