Successful organization of ‘Pre-Bid Conference’ for auction of iron ore blocks in Chhattisgarh

Raipur 14 February 2025: Directorate of Geology and Mining, Chhattisgarh organized a ‘Pre-Bid Conference’ today in the Convention Hall located at New Circuit House, Nava Raipur regarding the auction of iron ore blocks of Bailadila area of ​​​​Bastar. Mining investors and bidders from all over the country participated in this meeting, where detailed discussions were held on the auction process, investment opportunities, and mineral resources. On this occasion, the auction process of three world-class iron ore blocks located in Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh and one block of North Bastar Kanker was discussed. Senior officials and experts of the Mineral Department answered the questions of the participants and explained the e-auction process in detail.

Secretary, Mineral Department, P. Dayanand said that Chhattisgarh is a state with immense potential in terms of mineral resources, which provides an opportunity for extensive development in the field of industry, trade, and employment. He said that Chhattisgarh’s role will be important in realizing the resolve of self-reliant India, as huge reserves of high quality iron ore are available here.
While inviting bidders to invest in Chhattisgarh, he assured them that the government would provide them all possible assistance. He said that the Bailadila region is the backbone of India’s steel industry and the development of this region would lead to a massive boost to the local economy and employment.

GSI Deputy Director General Amit Dharwadkar said that Chhattisgarh is the second richest mineral-rich state in the country. He said that the iron ore area spread from Bailadila to Dallirajhara is counted among the important iron ore deposits of the world, which plays an important role in meeting the requirements of India’s steel industry. Director of Directorate of Geology and Mining Sunil Kumar Jain, while highlighting the auction process and the importance of iron ore blocks, said that it is necessary to ensure the availability of raw material to increase steel production in the country by 2030. Joint Director and Nodal Officer (Auction) Anurag Dewan said that Chhattisgarh is one of the most suitable states for industrial investment and it will play an important role in realizing the vision of Developed India 2047.

Under the auction process, online tender documents can be purchased till 3 pm on 27 February 2025. The last date for submitting tenders is 3 pm on 28 February 2025.
