Raipur. The work of renewal of all 77 lakh ration cards currently prevalent under the public distribution system in Chhattisgarh is going on from January 25. As of February 07, 43 lakh 83 thousand 497 ration card holders have submitted applications for renewal. People are taking full advantage of the online facility provided by the Food Department for renewal of ration cards and are submitting applications for renewal of ration cards through the Food Department’s app from their mobiles.
It is noteworthy that ration card renewal is being done from 25 January to 15 February 2024. According to the information received from the department, out of total 2 lakh 21 thousand 809 beneficiaries, 1 lakh 70 thousand 872 beneficiaries have submitted their online applications in Balod district. Similarly, in Kanker district at second place, out of total 1 lakh 87 thousand 999 beneficiaries, 1 lakh 35 thousand 725 beneficiaries have submitted their online applications and in Dhamtari district at third place, 1 lakh 73 out of total 2 lakh 42 thousand 320 beneficiaries have submitted their online applications. Thousand 413 beneficiaries have submitted their online applications.
A new mobile app of the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Department has been prepared by the Food Department for ration card renewal, it can be downloaded by going to the Play Store. It can be downloaded by the beneficiary from the website of the Food Department http://khadya.cg.nic.in. Ration card holders can submit electronic application for renewal online through this app in their mobile. For those beneficiaries who do not have Android mobile or where there is no mobile connectivity, the facility of submitting electronic application for renewal of ration cards through online process at the fair price shop level is also being provided.
