Chief Minister Sai attended the grand free health camp: Chief Minister appreciated the service spirit of Sindhi community

Raipur 14 June 2025 l Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai has said that good health is the biggest asset of life. If we take a balanced diet, exercise regularly and get health checkup done from time to time, then many diseases can be avoided. The Chief Minister was addressing the grand free health camp organized at Jhulelal Dham on Canal Road in the capital Raipur today.

On the occasion of the 94th birth anniversary of Pujya Baba Gurudas Ram Saheb Ji, this health camp was organized by Pujya Shadani Seva Mandal, Pujya Baba Garibdas Seva Mandal, Pujya Chhattisgarh Sindhi Panchayat, Bharatiya Sindhu Sabha and Pujya Kandhkot Panchayat in collaboration with the Health Department. A large number of citizens got health checkup done in the camp and also got Ayushman cards made. Specialist doctors provided their services in the camp.

Chief Minister Sai said that due to today’s irregular lifestyle, adulterated food and polluted environment, diseases like BP and diabetes have become common now. Even the hardworking people of rural areas are not untouched by these diseases now. In such a situation, organizing such health camps is a very commendable initiative.

Chief Minister Sai praised the service spirit of the Sindhi community and said that this community has been a leader in social concerns since the beginning. He recalled that since he was an MP from Raigarh, he has been participating in various programs of the Sindhi community.

The Chief Minister said that the state of Chhattisgarh has entered its silver jubilee year and during this period there has been all-round development in all areas including health. In terms of health facilities, Chhattisgarh is emerging as a medical hub today. At the time of formation of the state, there was only one medical college, whereas now 15 medical colleges are being operated in government and private sectors. Super specialty hospitals have also been established in the private sector. The medical facilities of Primary Health Center, Community Health Center and District Hospitals have been strengthened. Health and Wellness Centres have also been started.

He said that many public welfare schemes are being run by the Central and State Government to provide better treatment facilities to the common citizens. Under the Ayushman Bharat Scheme launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh is being provided to the poor. Also, all citizens above 70 years of age are being given assistance up to Rs 5 lakh for treatment under the Vaya Vandan Scheme. Similarly, under the Chief Minister Special Assistance Scheme, the State Government provides assistance of Rs 25 to 30 lakh for the treatment of serious diseases. Financial assistance is also given to eligible patients from the Chief Minister’s Vishvagnudan.

In the end, the Chief Minister honored the coordinator of the health camp, Amit Chimnani and the doctors who provided service in the camp.

On this occasion, MLA Shri Guru Khuswant Saheb, Dhamtari Mayor Shri Ramu Rohra, Chhattisgarh State Child Protection Commission Chairperson Dr. Varnika Sharma, Program Coordinator Shri Amit Chimanani, Bharatiya Sindhu Sabha President Shri Ladharam Ji, Chhattisgarh Sindhi Panchayat President Shri Mahesh Daryani along with Sindhi community volunteers, specialist doctors and a large number of citizens were present.
