A one-day district level program was organized at BIT College on the 150th birth anniversary of freedom fighter Bhagwan Birsa Munda, ‘Tribal Pride Day’, under the chief hospitality of MP Vijay Baghel. On this occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi joined virtually and addressed the people of the state.
Addressing the ceremony, chief guest MP Vijay Baghel said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi introduced the indomitable courage and bravery of Chhattisgarh’s tribal hero Birsa Munda to the present generation, for which he thanked him. He congratulated and wished the people of the district on the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda. He said that today our country has become independent due to the strength, courage and bravery of Birsa Munda. He fought against the British system. He belonged to the Munda tribe. Birsa Munda Jayanti is being celebrated as Tribal Pride Day to make the present generations aware of his sacrifice for the country. The customs, lifestyle, culture, art and lifestyle of the tribal society should be imbibed. The people of the tribal society agitated to save water, forest and land to preserve and protect nature. The tribal society, while remaining united, always worked to promote brotherhood and affection in the region. MP Vijay Baghel inaugurated the program by garlanding the photographs of Birsa Munda and Chhattisgarh Mahtari and lighting a lamp.

This birth anniversary is being celebrated with great pomp in the entire state. Birsa Munda had a huge contribution to our country in the 18th century. He worked to bring awareness about education in the tribal society. The tribals found their hero in the form of Lord Birsa Munda. The tribal society is moving ahead, whether it is in the field of art, education or sports, they consider Birsa Munda as their source of inspiration. The story of Chhattisgarh’s development is being written by the head of the tribal society, Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai. Birsa Munda has a special contribution in taking the tribal society forward.
