A Glimpse Of Chhattisgarh’s Tribal Traditions And Ramnami Community Will Be Seen In Bharat Parv

Chhattisgarh’s tableau received appreciation from national media in the preview held at National Stadium

Raipur 22 January 2025: This time a glimpse of Chhattisgarh’s cultural heritage and Ramnami community will be seen in Bharat Parv 2025 to be held at Red Fort, Delhi on the occasion of Republic Day. Chhattisgarh’s tableau is based on the theme of Government of India ‘Swarnim Bharat: Heritage and Development’. The tableau shows the rich and diverse cultural heritage of the state. Chhattisgarh’s tableau received appreciation from national media in the press preview held at National Stadium, Delhi today. It has been demonstrated through the tableau that there is a deep connection between life, nature and spirituality in the cultural heritage of Chhattisgarh. This tableau is presenting the unique cultural identity of the state by depicting the folk life, customs and traditions of Chhattisgarh.

The front part of the tableau shows a man and a woman representing the Ramnami community who worship formless Ram. The word ‘Ram-Ram’ is inscribed on their bodies and clothes. They are shown reciting Ramcharitmanas. Near it, ghunghrus have been displayed, which are used for bhajans. The middle part shows the costumes, jewellery, artifacts and art traditions of tribal culture. In this part, trumpet musical instrument and sulfi tree have been prominently shown, which have an important place in the folk life of Bastar. Peacock has been marked at the back of the tableau, which is a symbol of the beauty and liveliness of folk life. Through the tableau, the cultural heritage of Chhattisgarh and the spirituality related to nature have been deeply highlighted.
