Janjgir gets new tehsil building after 142 years
Raipur, May 5, 2025: Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, who reached Janjgir on a surprise visit with the spirit of ‘Samvad se Samadhan’ under Sushasan Tihar, gave a historic gift to the people of the district after 142 years. He inaugurated the newly constructed tehsil office building. The old tehsil building built in the year 1883 during the British rule has now become history, and in its place a new building equipped with state-of-the-art facilities has been dedicated to the public at a cost of Rs 4 crore 21 lakh. The Chief Minister said that the priority of the government is to ensure simple, easy and smooth access to services to the general public, and this new tehsil office is an important initiative in that direction. He informed that with this building, all the revenue related services will be available to the citizens of 54 villages and 24 Patwari Halkas of the area in the same premises.
All the facilities required for the efficient operation of administrative and judicial work have been developed in the new tehsil building. In this, services like caste, residence, income certificate will be provided through Public Service Center, while incoming-outgoing branch will ensure the dispatch and voice of documents as per rules. Nazir branch for maintenance of judicial documents, Election branch for election related works, Kanungo branch for land and revenue records and Maljamadar room for revenue recovery and financial management have been established. Also, well-equipped rooms have been made in the office building for administrative and judicial work of Sub-Divisional Officer Revenue and Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Tehsildar, Additional Tehsildar and Naib Tehsildar. On this occasion, Finance Minister O.P. Choudhary, MP Mrs. Kamlesh Jangde, former Deputy Speaker of Assembly Narayan Chandel, MLA Vyas Kashyap, Chhattisgarh Mineral Development Corporation Chairman Saurabh Singh, Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain, Chief Secretary to Chief Minister Subodh Kumar Singh, Secretary to Chief Minister P. Dayanand, senior officers of district administration, local public representatives and a large number of citizens were present.
