Chhattisgarh Weather Alert: Chhattisgarh’s been enjoying a bit of a break from the heat lately, with temperatures cooler than usual. But get ready, because things are about to change! We’re expecting some pretty active weather starting today – thunderstorms, lightning, and rain are likely across the whole state. The weather service says this unsettled weather will probably stick around for the next couple of days. After that, though, it looks like temperatures will creep back up a degree or three. One of the weather experts, H.P. Chandra, explained that there’s a weather system stretching from central Uttar Pradesh all the way down to southern Tamil Nadu, high up in the atmosphere. This, combined with other weather patterns, is bringing lots of moisture into the area. That’s why we’re likely to see some rumbles of thunder, strong winds, light rain, and maybe even a few lightning strikes in parts of the state. Once this short burst of stormy weather passes, temperatures will likely start to climb again. Over the past day, many parts of Chhattisgarh saw some light to moderate rain. The highest temperature was 37.2°C in Raipur, while the coolest spot was Pendra Road at a much more comfortable 18.2°C.
Yellow Alert for 23 Districts The weather service has issued a yellow alert for thunderstorms and strong winds for the next three hours in 23 districts. This includes Kondagaon, North Bastar Kanker, Dhamtari, Balod, Rajnandgaon, Gariaband, Mahasamund, Raipur, Baloda Bazar, Janjgir-Champa, Raigarh, Bilaspur, Korba, Jashpur, Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi, Durg, Bemetara, Kabirdham, Mungeli, Surguja, Surajpur, Korea, and Balrampur. Folks in these areas should be prepared for possible cloud-to-ground lightning, sudden strong winds (30–40 KMPH), and rain.
Raipur’s Outlook For Raipur specifically, expect partly cloudy skies today with a good chance of thunderstorms and some showers. The high should be around 39°C, and the low will be near 22°C.
