Smt. Dipti Gaur Mukherjee, Secretary, Ministry Of Corporate Affairs Reviews PMIS, Emphasises On Strengthening PMIS Framework

Raipur, 21 February 2025: Smt. Dipti Gaur Mukherjee, Secretary, Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India reviewed the Pradhan Mantri Internship Scheme (PMIS) at the Ministry here yesterday. The meeting, held in the presence of Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain, comprehensively evaluated the implementation and impact of the PMIS scheme in Chhattisgarh. The meeting was also attended by Balamurugan D., Joint Secretary, Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India, Dr. S. Bharatidasan, Secretary, Skill Development, Technical Education and Employment Department, Chhattisgarh, Sitaram Sharan Gupta, Registrar of Companies-cum-Official Liquidator, Chhattisgarh, Secretary, Higher Education, Secretary, Panchayat and Rural Development, Secretary, Labour Department, and Additional Secretary, School Education.

The meeting had extensive discussions on evaluating the effectiveness of the first phase of the scheme and formulating a strategic approach for the smooth implementation of its second phase. Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain expressed the full commitment of the State Government on PMIS and assured to make active efforts to ensure the success of the scheme so that the youth of Chhattisgarh can get maximum benefit. An interactive session was held with the representatives of key industry players like NSE, GPIL and Power Grid who are currently undergoing internship under PMIS. These organizations have played a vital role in imparting theoretical and practical training, thereby effectively bridging the gap between academic knowledge and industry requirements.

During the meeting, the interns shared their experiences and how the programme has positively impacted their professional skills and career prospects. Secretary Smt. Dipti Gaur Mukherjee interacted with the interns and sought their suggestions for challenges faced during the scheme and its effective implementation. Interns from reputed companies like Shriram Finance, ICICI Bank also participated in the meeting virtually and shared their positive experiences of the scheme.

This was followed by a special session with industry representatives to discuss their role, adherence to guidelines in the recruitment process, best practices adopted to ensure the success of the scheme, and arrangements to ensure timely payment of grants to interns. Concerns related to any possible delay in disbursement of grants were also raised and necessary steps were agreed upon to address them. The meeting concluded in a highly positive atmosphere, with all stakeholders reiterating their collective commitment to further strengthen the PMIS framework in Chhattisgarh. The suggestions and discussions from this session will prove to be helpful in making the second phase of the scheme more effective, structured and result-oriented.
