Solar high masts installed at Niyyad Nella Nar illuminated the nights of Maoist-affected villages for the first time: People are getting clean drinking water from solar pumps
Raipur 15 January 2025: The Niyyad Nella Nar scheme launched by the state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai to accelerate the pace of development in the remote villages of Bastar is bringing a big change in the remote tribal-dominated areas. Under this, the solar high masts installed are illuminating the nights of Maoist-affected villages of Kanker for the first time. Clean drinking water is also being supplied to the villagers through dual pumps operated by solar energy. Solar high mast plants have been installed to illuminate the squares and intersections of Panidobir, Alparas, Jugda, Gundul (Marram), Alpar, Hetadaksa and Chilparas villages of Koylibeda development block of Kanker at night. With good lighting arrangements at night, the villagers are now conducting night meetings and community-cultural programs there. With this uninterrupted lighting system, they are also feeling more secure from wild animals.
Development is being given a new impetus by providing the benefits of the government’s public welfare schemes to sensitive and remote Maoist-affected villages through Niyyad Nella Nar. Work is being done to provide clean drinking water along with night lighting using solar energy. Clean drinking water is being supplied to the villagers through solar dual pumps. The lives of people are changing with the installation of solar plants on a large scale in Maoist-affected villages. To provide basic facilities in remote villages, solar high masts for lighting, solar drinking water plants for the supply of pure drinking water, irrigation system under the Solar Sujala Yojana and solar energy-operated equipment are being installed through Niyyad Nella Nar. With these works, people of remote and inaccessible villages of Bastar are joining the mainstream of development. The ashram premises also started shining, Samarth, the superintendent of the Bal Ashram located in village Panidobir, Kanker, said that earlier due to lack of light in the ashram premises, the children had to face problems in studies as well as other activities. But now due to installation of solar lights in the ashram premises, there is arrangement of light at night. Due to this the children are now studying at night as well. Due to good lighting arrangement, everyone is feeling more secure at night.
