The name of the Pando tribe comes prominently among the special backward tribes of the state of Chhattisgarh. This tribe resides in the remote areas of the state, where the problem of lack of basic facilities and access to government schemes had persisted for a long time. To solve this problem, an important step has been taken by the district administration under the leadership of Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai. Special camps are being organized every Wednesday under the Sampurnata Abhiyan to connect the Pando tribe with basic facilities and public welfare schemes of the government, which is proving to be a decisive initiative in their development journey. The dedication and vision of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai can be seen in the organization of these camps. He has always talked about paying special attention to the development of the most backward and marginalized communities of the society. He believes that every section of the society should get equal opportunity and facility, irrespective of its geographical location. On this basis, dedicated efforts are being made by him to connect special backward tribes like Pando tribe with government schemes, so that these communities can develop properly and they can be brought into the mainstream of society. In this sequence, taking concrete steps towards the development of Pando tribe, special camps are being organized in various Gram Panchayat buildings of the district with the aim that the people of Pando tribe can be given full benefit of the schemes of the government.

Organizing these special camps is a revolutionary step towards their development. Through special camps, every family of this tribe is being linked to government schemes. These camps will be organized in various Gram Panchayat buildings of the district till 18 December 2024. Under this, after surveying every family, collecting information of Pando family and assessing their needs and available facilities, necessary action is being taken by the concerned departments. A roster and action plan of camps has been prepared to saturate these Pando families with basic facilities and schemes. According to the roster, camps are being organized in every village. In this, tribal people are being benefited from government schemes by fixing dates. For the successful implementation of the camps, Collector S. Jaivardhan has assigned responsibilities to the district officials of various departments. Updated information is provided by the officials of all departments to the Project Administrator and Integrated Tribal Development Project Surajpur. For the development of this class, the district administration, Janpad Panchayat, and the officials of the Tribal Development Project are working in coordination. The officer of every department has been instructed to fulfill his responsibilities, so that this process of development can move forward uninterrupted. With this initiative, the standard of living of this tribal class is continuously improving. By organizing camps, the Pando tribe is being linked to the schemes of health, education, employment, housing and economic assistance through special camps. The schemes being provided in these camps mainly include Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Ayushman Bharat Yojana, Ujjwala Yojana, Swachh Bharat Mission, and National Food Security Scheme. Under these schemes, the families of the Pando tribe are being provided with pucca houses, health insurance, free gas connections, toilet construction and food grains at affordable rates.

This effort of the government and administration is being continuously appreciated by the people of the Pando tribe and the local community. Earlier, where these tribes complained of lack of basic facilities and being deprived of schemes, now they are getting their rights through these camps. Many Pando families have shared their experiences of how their lives have changed due to these schemes. Regarding this scheme, a local Pando resident, Rameshwar Pando, said, earlier we were not able to get better information about the government schemes, nor were we able to get full benefit of them. But now we are getting the benefits of government schemes through special camps. Our family has benefited from the housing scheme, and we have also received health insurance. This has improved our lives a lot. It is worth noting that under this Sampoornata Abhiyan, camps are being organized continuously to benefit the special backward tribe Pando living in the villages of Surajpur, Ramanujnagar, Premnagar, Bhaiyathan, Odgi and Pratappur in all the development blocks of the district from the government schemes and to achieve saturation.
