78th Independence Day Celebrated With Nationalistic Fervour At SECL

78th Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and nationalistic fervour at SECL. In the main function of Independence Day held at Vasant Vihar Sports Ground, SECL Bilaspur, the chief guest, CMD Dr. Prem Sagar Mishra hoisted the national flag and took salute of the parade.
On this occasion, the CMD inspected the main parade led by Parade Commander V. Dakshinamurthy and D.P. Diwakar, during the parade inspection, Security Chief Ashok was also present.
Vijay Gupta and Prakash Dwivedi led two platoons of the SECL security department in the parade. Platoon No. 3 was led by Bhavya Shri Ramesh, DAV School, Platoon No. 4 was led by Kumari Kavita Kashyap, Platoon No. 5 was led by Savita Jangde and Platoon No. 6 was led by Master Abhay. There was also a band platoon in the parade.
On this occasion, Chief Guest, CMD Dr. Prem Sagar Mishra extended hearty greetings and best wishes of Independence Day to all the present. He said that SECL has an important role to play in realizing the dream of Vision 2047 of Vikasit Bharat while ensuring energy security of the country. Last year, due to the hard work of all of you, the company registered the highest production, dispatch and profit in its history. In the recently released list of top 10 mines of worldatlas.com, SECL’s Gevra and Kusmunda mines have been ranked second and fourth in the whole world, which has given a new identity to the whole India country, Chhattisgarh state and SECL in the world. Underground mining is naturally environment friendly and the company has targeted to increase underground production in the coming time, for which the use of continuous miner technology is being promoted. We have already installed 16 continuous miners and we aim to install a total of 58 such machines. Through Plantation, Green Credit and Compensatory Afforestation SECL is continuously striving for a green koylanchal.

Under the Sushruta scheme of SECL, 40 children of Koylanchal were provided free residential coaching of NEET by the company and today it is a matter of great pride that 39 out of those 40 children have passed this examination and these children will fulfill their dream of becoming a doctor later and also realize the dream of healthy India. Through Amrit Pharmacy, SECL is working to provide medicines for serious diseases to the people at affordable prices in Koylanchal. Under Mission Nachiketa, SECL is also promoting the work culture of writing, reading, skill development and knowledge sharing in all its employees.

Earlier, in the program organized in the premises of SECL Administrative Building, in the presence of Shri Haridwar Singh (AITUC) of SECL Steering Committee, various heads of departments, labour union representatives, officers-employees, Director (Personnel) Shri Biranchi Das offered floral tributes at the Shaheed Smarak and Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar statue and Khanik statue, hoisted the flag and took salute of the parade by HQ security contingent led by Shri Ravi Shankar Adille. Remembering the brave martyrs and miners, he said that the achievements of SECL are the result of the hard work and dedication of our skilled workers. He called upon everyone to contribute their best in the interest of the company and the country while following all the rules and regulations.

The main function of Vasant Vihar Sports Ground was mainly attended by Director Technical (Operations) Shri SN Kapri, Director Technical (Projects & Planning) Shri Franklin Jayakumar, Director (Personnel) Shri Biranchi Das, and Director (Finance) Shri D Sunil Kumar, Shri Haridwar Singh (AITUC) from SECL Steering Committee, Shri AK Pandey from CMOAI, Council President OP Navrang, Shraddha Mahila Mandal President Poonam Mishra, members Sangeeta Kapri, Anita Franklin, Ipsita Das, Hasina Kumar, various department heads, labor union representatives, officers-employees, and school children were present.

In the function, Chairman Managing Director Dr. Prem Sagar Mishra along with his Functional Directors and office bearers of Shraddha Mahila Mandal collectively released pigeons and balloons in the sky and gave the message of peace.

The students of DAV Public School, Loyola School, Holy Nursery School, Dreamland and Krishna Public School presented a mesmerizing performance of various patriotic songs and dances. On this occasion, prizes were given to the participants of the parade from the Chief Guest.
